LA CAÑADA – On August 9th, 2020, the La Cañada Charity will plan its third and final charity event at an undecided location. Like the last two charities, any donations will be appreciated and volunteers can sign up through the hyperlink above. The charity will except for clothes, canned food, or toys.

All the proceeds will go to St. Bede which is a catholic church tied with numerous charitable institutions.

However, due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, the event will be postponed to August 9th as opposed to its usual date: August 4th. The charity understands there is a potential danger in gathering more than a few dozen people in one area during a pandemic.

Therefore, the charity will mandate every volunteer to wear a face mask and to socially distance, and ask any donor to do the same.

The charity says they will only hold a regular event if the LA County mandate is lifted and they are able to get a permit to hold event in Memorial park.

When asked about postponing the event, Co-founder Edwin Tieu said, “We hope to do the event this year, but if that means endangering the lives of our community, then we will continue to postpone the event until it is safe or eventually cancel it.”
