Last updated on September 27, 2020

On September 26, 2020, Amy Coney Barrett, a current Circuit Judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the seventh circuit, was nominated by President Trump to replace Justice Ginsburg. As a Norte Dame Law School Graduate, Clerk for Justice Scalia, Lawyer, Professor, and Judge, she is highly respected in the legal community.

As a Norte Dame Professor, she received the “Distinguished Professor of the Year” award three times, teaching Constitutional Law, Civil Procedure, Evidence, Federal Courts, Constitutional Theory Seminar, and Statutory Interpretation Seminar. She also served on the Advisory Committee for the Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure.

However, the question remains: is she qualified to become one of the most powerful judicial authorities and legal arbiters in the world?
