Remember, let’s be polite; let’s be respectful, but most of all, let’s be outspoken.
In the midst of ideological warfare between two political parties holding two contradictory beliefs of all aspects of society, we recognize the men and women that entered military service for their nation’s security and prosperity.
Veteran’s day is humbling, a time where we acknowledge that the accomplishments we achieve and the advancement that we work towards can be credited to the men and women in uniform. They are extraordinary people who gave up a life of wealth, power, or fortune for service to their country, who have exemplified bravery and fortitude during times of tremendous threats to democracy and western civilization.
Unfortunately, there are veterans across this nation who are in desperate need of resources and supplies, living in poverty or despair. It is our obligation to ensure they have necessities in order to repay them for their sacrifice.
The veterans still alive today serve as a present testimony for the existence of virtue and sacrifice in a sea of increasing societal materialism and self-aggrandizing.
Unless war or conflict abrupts, I may never be in the military, which means I may never know the hardships those who do enlist feel when they are holding the last line of defense for peace. We must remember that in this modern era of increasing military technology and weaponry that peace should be the ultimate objective of diplomacy and government.
This objective has to be achieved at all costs, so we do not have to send more men and women into the arena of chaos and warfare. However, to the adversaries of peace, America will not yield in quelling the threat you represent to the lives around the world. Granted, today is a day of memoriam and reflection but also a day where the strength of our surviving military soldiers is observed.
This nation will enter a change of leadership in a few months, a new commander-in-chief for all current members of the military. In doing so, let us hope the new bearer of America’s arsenal will maintain the well-being of our veterans and the safety of our current soldiers across the world.
Remember, let’s be polite; let’s be respectful, but most of all, let’s be outspoken.
