Imagine loading into a world with your friends and having hundreds of possibilities. In video games like Minecraft, you can build, run, mine, craft, kill, and so much more. In video games, you can almost live in your own world that you have created. For example, Valorant promotes teamwork and better eyesight of where the enemy is. It also creates better decision-making based on whether you should run or continue firing.
Video games are better for you rather than worse for you, but if you play video games too much and overdo it that will result in video games being harmful and leading to aggression or eye irritation.
There are positive and negative effects of playing video games. A few negative effects of gaming are aggression, dehydration, and sleep deprivation. I have experienced all of these things when playing video games too much. For example, one time when I was playing video games too much, I had been playing for so long that I was extremely dehydrated. And because I had been sucked into the computer world I didn’t realize I was thirsty.
Video games can help in problem-solving because there can be situations where you need to figure out what to do. When playing video games you need to make faster decisions. You make faster decisions because there will be situations where you have to make situations but in a timely manner before the enemies come and invade.
Even with these negative effects, there are still many positive benefits such as increased hand-eye coordination or greater multitasking abilities.
When playing video games, just make sure to play in a timely manner and not overdo it, otherwise, it will start to have a negative effect on yourself. Video games have helped me when I do have to make decisions in an amount of time that isn’t enough to really think hard.
