Imagine that you’re playing video games, but your parents tell you to stop because games won’t contribute to your life. However, studies show that games are actually good for you: Peter Grinspoon, who has a medical degree, states that, although video games can be bad for you at times, they provide a way for people to interact with each other to complete different tasks. Because gaming provides a way for people to communicate with each other, people with autism are able to communicate with other people more easily.

Studies also show that games can help you with cognitive thinking, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. They additionally demonstrate that games help you with your fast-paced reactions. These reactions can actually save you from life and death.

Video games also have medical applications. For example, video games can train people with degenerative diseases to help improve their balance. Games can also help adolescents with ADHD improve their thinking skills, according to M.D. Peter Grinspoon. Grinspoon says that surgeons can use medical games to train themselves on how to do complicated operations. This shows that video games have a number of benefits.
