The writing staff consists of editors and contributors. Contributors write Op-eds on all of our topics, and Editors curate the articles within their sections. They are important to the writing team in providing perspective on certain issues.

Sahana Karthik
Sahana Karthik is the Tech section Editor. She is passionate about healthcare and women’s advocacy. Her goal is to become a women’s health physician, and in her free time, she enjoys reading, baking, and learning more about biotechnology. She joined The Outspoken to serve as a strong voice for minorities.
Claire Chin
Claire Chin serves as World Editor of The Outspoken. She is an involved student leader passionate about education policy, civic engagement, and international relations. Outside of her academic interests, Claire enjoys digital photography and teaching.
Ethan Dumper
Ethan Dumper is the Economics section editor. In addition to The Outspoken, he is an active member of the Loyola debate team, MUN team, and school newspaper. He is passionate about public policy, investing, data analysis, and volunteering/advocacy work.
Lucas Canley
Lucas Canley is the US Section Editor. He is passionate about Speech and Debate, journalism, creative writing, and drawing. In his free time, he plays soccer as a goalkeeper, documents his days and trips in his journal, watches films, and trains Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Amber Wang
Amber Wang is the Section Editor for anything Lifestyle. She is passionate about literature and involved in leadership and political science. In her free time, she enjoys playing competitive volleyball and actively seeks to engage in anything food-related.

Tara Lama was the Politics Section Editor. She attends Brighton High School in Rochester, NY. She is a tea, film, and poetry enthusiast. In her free time, Tara loves playing the violin, perfecting her lackluster culinary skills, and exploring the grandeur of nature. She dreams of helping to create a more compassionate society and is involved in multiple leadership extracurriculars, such as being Class President.

Keshav Fernando was the Economics Section Editor. He has avid interests in business, economics, and the crypto world. He is a competitive swimmer as well as a lacrosse player who enjoys listening to music and hanging out with friends, and family in his free time.

Francesca Perris Magnetto was a Contributing Writer. Italian but Swiss-born Francesca is currently completing her third year at L’Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne. Francesca relocated to Tokyo, Japan during a six-month period in which she gained working experience at Conrad Tokyo. Francesca is interested in the sociological factors that affect reform in sustainability and solutions to modern problems.
